Melanie, owner of Handy Housewives—a cleaning business in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan—reached out to me because their brand and website no longer reflected the quality of their services or their business values. It was time to elevate their business by giving their brand a simple and refreshing feel that helps them stand out among their competitors.

During the Research & Strategy phase of the project, we established that we wanted to really highlight what clients gain when they hire Handy Housewives. In addition to having a clean home, clients have more time to spend with those they love, and more time to rest and recharge their mind and body. These are some of the main reasons Melanie created her business in the first place, so we felt it was very important to communicate this though the brand.

Many other cleaning businesses have a very corporate, sterile feel, so we wanted to push the envelope and create a look that is totally different to help Handy Housewives stand out among competitors. To accomplish this, we used a warm and inviting color palette, and paired this with organic floral and leaf illustrations. Then, we tied everything together with simple fonts and clean geometric shapes that give the brand a polished and refreshing look.

After working with Melanie, it is so clear that she has a strong passion for improving people’s lives and gifting them with more time to be spent with loved ones. I’m excited and honored to have played a role in this new chapter for Handy Housewives, and I can’t wait to see how their business continues to expand and improve the lives of everyone they work with!
